Festival of love poetry "Vrazova Ljubica"

The annual multimedial festival of love poetry that turns Samobor into the City of poets.

The love poetry festival "Vrazova Ljubica" is a poetic literary meeting that has been held since 1990. in Samobor, in memory of Julijana Cantilly (1812-1842), the famous Samobor Ljubica and the eternal love of the famous Croatian Ilyrian poet Stanko Vraz (1810. - 1851). His book of love verses "Đulabije", dedicated to Julijana, is an valuable piece in the history of Croatian Illyrian poetry. As the poets are gathering in Samobor for almost 30 years, Vrazova Ljubica has become one of the most significant poetic cultural manifestations in Croatia, which has turned Samobor into a City of poets.

The Public Open University Samobor, with the support of the Society of Croatian Writers and with the co-financing of the City of Samobor, Zagreb County and Ministry of Culture, organizes poetry evenings every year where the most significant contemporary Croatian poets present their unpublished love songs. Every year a stone slab is placed with engraved verses of one participant in the meeting - in the Passage of the Poets, on the wall beside the grave of Ljubica, next to the Church of St. Anastasia.
