Following the green ring trail

Circural route that partly passes through the Samobor wine road, and it would be a shame not to taste what it has to offer.

There is a new way to discover Samobor’s natural richness – by taking the educational trail “Following the Green Ring”. This circular route lasts between 3 to 5 hours and starts in Bregana, goes via Podvrh, to Otruševec, and then and then back to Bregana across the peak Kožlak.

The starting point of the trail is recently renovated farmers’ market in Bregana, and once you move away from the urban space, things become fascinating. The route takes you underground into the famous Grgos Cave, then afterwards you take a walk on the educational trail ''Otruševec'', the first of such kind in Croatia that was designed in 1990 by the Environmental Society of Samobor. After passing the 9 points of the trail, it is time to climb to Kožlak, the peak 428 metres above sea level. Besides enjoying nature and the fresh air, it is good to know that the trail offers gastronomical challenges thanks to the restaurants located near the trail. Also, the trail partly passes through the Samobor wine road, and it would be a shame not to taste what it has to offer.
