Obviously, during the Samobor carnival almost everything is designed for children but there are a few interesting things to do in other seasons as well – for start, near the waterfall under the Gradna walkway there is a sundial erected by the Samobor’s Society of Engineers and Technicians which may serve as a challenge of telling the exact time.

The walkway continues all the way to the Matica hrvatska Square where there is a children’s playground in the shape of a G-clef as a link to the Ferdo Livadić Music School located nearby. Opposite the park is the Prica Gallery which often offers numerous activities for young creative hands at the weekends, while there are various children film matinees and plays like the ones included in the programme Children’s world on Sundays at 5. Nearby is a book house so feel free to take a look inside and maybe find an interesting picture book or a children’s novel.

To boost children’s energy there are numerous cake shops on the main square and around it where you can try the popular Samobor’s cream cake as well as other local specialties. Close by is a small square with a fountain which changes colours in the evenings.

For those youngsters who wish to know more there is the Samobor museum where they can see, among other things, a model of the Old Town in its former glow, and for the ones eager to stretch and run it is ideal to follow the Gradna stream towards the Vugrinščak sports centre.
